🧂 Ingredients

For Dough

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
  • Water (as needed)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oil (optional)

For Potato Filling

  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped

For Cooking

  • Ghee or oil for shallow frying

🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare Dough: Mix wheat flour, salt, and water into a soft, pliable dough. Cover and set aside for 20 minutes.
  2. Make Filling: In a bowl, combine boiled mashed potatoes, green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, salt, and coriander leaves.
  3. Shape Parathas: Divide dough and filling into equal portions. Roll a dough ball slightly, place a spoonful of potato filling in the center, fold the edges over, and roll gently into a flat circle.
  4. Cook: Heat a tawa or non-stick pan. Place the rolled paratha and cook on medium heat. Apply ghee or oil on both sides and cook until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Serve hot with a dollop of butter, yogurt, or pickle.

💡 Tips & Serving Suggestions

Use soft dough to make fluffy parathas. Mash the potatoes finely for smooth filling, or leave slightly chunky for texture. Serve immediately for the best taste. You can also add grated paneer or onion to the filling for variety.
