Palak Paneer is a classic North Indian curry made with fresh spinach and soft cottage cheese. Its creamy, mildly spiced flavor pairs perfectly with naan, roti, or jeera rice. A healthy and delicious way to enjoy greens!

🧂 Ingredients

For the Curry

  • 250g paneer (cottage cheese), cubed
  • 4 cups fresh spinach leaves, washed and chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • ¼ cup fresh cream (optional)

Spices

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste

🍳 Instructions

  1. Blanch Spinach: Boil spinach leaves for 2–3 minutes, drain, and blend into a smooth puree.
  2. Sauté Base: Heat oil, add cumin seeds and chopped onions. Sauté until golden.
  3. Add Tomato & Spices: Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, turmeric, and coriander powder. Cook until oil separates.
  4. Add Spinach: Stir in spinach puree, salt, and cook for 5–6 minutes on low flame.
  5. Add Paneer: Gently add paneer cubes and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Finish: Sprinkle garam masala and swirl in fresh cream before serving.
  7. Serve: Hot with naan, roti, or jeera rice.

Use fresh spinach for best color and taste. Blanching removes raw flavor and enhances the green color. For extra richness, add a few cashews while blending the spinach.
