🧂 Ingredients
For the Kadhi
- 1 cup yogurt (curd), well whisked
- 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
- 2 medium tomatoes, pureed
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
For Tempering
- 1 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 dried red chilies
- 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
🍳 Instructions
- Prepare Yogurt Mixture: In a bowl, whisk yogurt and gram flour until smooth. Add turmeric, salt, and water. Mix well to avoid lumps.
- Cook Kadhi: Pour the mixture into a pan and simmer on medium heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Prepare Tempering: Heat oil/ghee, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilies, and hing. Sauté for a minute.
- Combine: Pour tempering over the simmering kadhi. Add tomato puree and cook 5 more minutes.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
